Original ideas, built on experience
Victores Dacus Ltd is a UK-registered company based in Scotland and the company behind WhyRound. Our work brings together experience in furniture manufacturing, a passion for original design and a belief that familiar products can still be improved.
Our founder, Victor Berhiu, brings decades of experience in working with wood and developing products. His background includes running a business manufacturing traditional round wooden curtain poles. WhyRound grew from this practical knowledge and a simple question—why should wooden curtain poles always be round if making them that way wastes so much wood?
From an idea to WhyRound
That question led to the development of curtain poles with distinctive profiles and matching rings, combining the natural character of wood with a fresh approach to shape and function. Together, these designs and their manufacturing method achieve wood savings of around 70% compared with traditional round wooden curtain poles, making more of the fine timber we value.
Behind their appearance lies a long process of design, technical development, prototyping and testing. From the outset, WhyRound was developed with industrial manufacturing in mind, bringing together precision, consistent quality and efficient use of wood.
Our designs are registered in the UK and the European Union, and a UK patent application covering the manufacturing method and products has been published.
Building the next stage
Initial sales trials gave us the opportunity to introduce WhyRound to customers and gather feedback from real use. We apologise to our customers for the temporary pause in our small-scale production and sales while we prepare for the transition to industrial manufacturing in the UK.
This is an important step towards making WhyRound more widely available, with consistent quality, greater production capacity and more affordable prices. Our aim is to bring the benefits of our designs to more homes while making better use of our shared natural resources.

Victores Dacus ltd, is a company registered in The Great Britain, Scotland, which aims to create and manufacturing for their clients, original and exclusivist models of furniture and decorative objects, in a full accordance to the fashion trends of the interior design field.
Along with the originality we permanently aim our products to be the best quality, by a careful selection of all the materials integrated in the products as well as the people who contribute to create it.
Having a very good relationship with our customers we listen their opinions with consideration and constantly seeking to improve and adapt the products to their needs.
At the moment, the company’s production is focused on the small series and unique hand made production addressing to a certain category of clients, planning for the future to extend it to the production of large series which will implicitly lead to lower costs and more affordable prices for a larger categories of customers.
Victores Dacus ltd. being a new created company, we do not have a big history, but we will go step by step, with confidence, towards to a great future.
